Hostel Fee Payment@ the time of Counseling

even I was wondering about that. Can anyone suggest what is to be done?
I presume that hostel fees can be paid at the time of joining too. So you get the room allotted now and get the DD in july.
The other options are -
1.. get the room allotted and make the DD in Manipal itself.
2.. Estimate the room charges, make a DD and pay the balance in cash (if it is allowed)

hey,u wouldn't be allotted rooms at the counseling itself,they will just ask ur preference,u have to ask the mit guys about the room before coming here,and pay the dd in favor of manipal university .u have to pay only ur tuition fees at the time of counseling. the info regarding the dd will be given at the counseling..and ur new sbi account too.

let me understand you..
you are saying that at counselling they will ask for room preference only
then before coming for joining you have to ask MIT (who exactly) by remote (email,phone etc) about the allocation and the amount.
Send the DD to relevant address...

it is not very clear. Are you saying take the tuition fee in DD form and bring the rest in cash?
Since the amount is not known, a DD cannot be made.
The prospectus lists the names of hostels for first year students of other programs but not for MIT -
Hostels for first year guys will mostly be the 15th block (AC) and 16th+17th block (Non AC). The AC block is about Rs. 96000 for double and Rs. 140000 for Single. And the Non AC block is Rs. 110000 for Single and Rs. 82000 for Double. And girls will get the 1st and 2nd block. Pls check the brochure for rates.

Thanks for the info. It has become clear now that just the DD for the course fee +17500 enough and no need to pay the hostel fee at the time of counseling.
