Manipal, an International University Town, is well connected by
road, rail and air. There are two main cities close to Manipal
which serve as entry points - Udupi and Mangalore. Udupi is about
5 km from Manipal (10 min drive), whereas Mangalore is about 65 km
away (1 and a half hour drive).

How to reach by road |

There are luxury buses operating between Mangalore and
Manipal.

From the North there are
direct buses operating from Mumbai and Goa. |

buses operating from Ernakulam to Mangalore and
Manipal. |

operating from Hyderabad and Madras to Mangalore,

How to reach by rail
If you plan to come by rail, your drop off point would
be Udupi and/or Mangalore Railway Station. These
railway stations lie on the Konkan route connecting
the North and the South along the West coast. Delhi
and Mumbai (to the North) & Ernakulam (to the South)
are linked to the Udupi station. The Mangalore station
is directly connected with Chennai, Delhi, Trivandrum
& Mumbai. Those travelling from Calcutta will have to
reach Chennai and then take a connecting train to
Mangalore. There is also a train operating from Jammu
to Mangalore once a week. |
